Description
Nearly unobtanium diode/pentode RCA produced for their "Electronics Lab" kit, which they flogged at the 1939 World's Fair. Sites claim similarity to 12A7 but with an octal base. Absent curves or valid test parameters, I tested it for emissions and diode perveance, and it tests more or less as expected for a new tube. Filament I was exactly 300mA @ 12.6v. Why the unique design? Perhaps they expected a standard value might chip into replacement part sales, given the kit was sold cheaply? Showing off the relatively new "Octal Tech"???Anyway, here's an opportunity to score one for your kit, and if you need other bits from same please enquire, as IIRC I have a mic, headphone and tuner coil assembly from the same product in various degrees of deterioration. Will be shipped well padded in random boxing.
