For remote locations was in a suitcase type enclosure according to the magazine ad; accordingly Synchronous.16mm film and audio reel to reel Recording Amplifier Model M-116 Early 1950 broadcast magazine has ads for this model. when they were linking film to reel tape motors. Have not plugged it in yet. Was impressed by the chromium chassis and how it's built like a tank or missle silo hardware Same type architecture. Mono output. As the pictures show there are 2 parts that connect with attached cables. This unit is over 70 yrs old and the start of the historic L.A. broadcast and in the field film recording scene.
